Epic on order

Yesterday I pulled the trigger; I've got a 2010 S-Works Epic on order at my LBS A&B Cycle.  Estimated time of arrival is 3 weeks.

They gave me a good deal and I sold my Suzuki GSXR-1000 a couple weeks ago which is paying for most of this bike, but it was still hard to write that check for half the amount.

It's going to be a blast riding that bike and I can't wait to get it.......

SO

Seems like a good deal.  Am I crazy?

  1. Way cool! If I had something that nice, I might be afraid to ride it!

  2. Yeah, especially considering how often I wreck. Hopefully the carbon fiber will hold up.

Once the newness wears off I'll hopefully use my current bike for most of my trail rides and use the epic primarily for racing. It'll be tough to leave it at home though.

Great decision! You will not regret it. I have had mine for 2 months now and it is w/o a doubt the best bike I have ever had.

The carbon fiber is rock solid. The first thing I broke was one of those beautiful SRAM Dos Equis brake levers. The magnesium in the housing broke in a bad fall I had this past Sunday.

    Enjoy!

  4. Sweet!!!

I hope you like it, I'm sure I'll run into you out at Sac and get to see it for a moment as you fly by.

Mark, curious what compelled you to go with Specialized Epic over Trek Superfly 100?

In the same point of decision myself - can get an Epic Comp 29er for $2100, Epic Carbon 29er for $3,700, Superfly 100 for $3,800 or an Epic Expert Carbon for $4,500.

    Decisions - decisions. -bb

  6. Brett,

Two words: the brain. I've never found a suspension setup as good as the brain fork and shock on the Specialized bikes. I got the bike for racing where efficiency is critical and the brain makes for a more efficient pedaling platform. That aside I liked the Superfly, you won't go wrong with either.
